Georgine Hodgkinson is a professor of communication studies at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, where she also served as program coordinator for Re-Emerging Scholars, a program supporting formerly incarcerated students.
Her published scholarship includes book chapters, journal articles, and essays exploring politics, gender, and spirituality. In 2025, she was a People's Choice Winner for the Amy MacRae International Memoir Award.
Her debut memoir, Crypto Island, will be published by She Writes Press in September 2026.
A certified yoga instructor who loves to run and play pickleball, Georgine splits her time between Dorado, Puerto Rico, and Folsom, California, with her husband, Mark.
Classes & Workshops
Georgine teaches college-level courses in interpersonal communication, public speaking, persuasion, and political campaign communication. She has worked with a variety of organizations in the Sacramento Area including city and county planners, engineers, and various individuals in Sacramento to provide effective public speaking and group facilitation skills. Georgine has written speeches, designed project proposals, planned training sessions, and coached clients on public speaking skills and the presentation of project proposals.
